Church History

The first organizational meetings of Midway Heights Baptist Church were held in May 1975 in private homes. In July 1975 the first service was held at Midway Heights Elementary school. A “Together We Build“ banquet was held in April 1977, as members begin the fundraising efforts to build a church building. On June of the same year, Calvary Baptist Church excepted duties as a mother church for Midway Heights Baptist Chapel to assist where needed. One year after the fundraising began, a groundbreaking ceremony was held on April 23, 1978 with the first service on December 17, 1978 in the new church building. On November 8, 1987 an organizing service was held for Midway Heights Baptist church with 96 charter members. As needs grew, the church voted to expand in December 2001.

On May 4, 2003 the new addition was dedicated to continue doing God’s work. The new construction included a choir room, two classrooms, new restrooms, Pastor‘s office, secretaries office, and additional basement space; all built debt-free. The church continued to seek God‘s will and direction as it was determined additional education space was needed as well as a multi-purpose area.Through God‘s abundant provision these needs were met through another construction phase which was completed in November 2015. We give God the glory and praise for His love and blessing for all He has bestowed upon Midway Heights Baptist Church.
