For Kids in Kindergarten through 5th Grades

TeamKID is a fun, high-energy ministry that encourages kids to know Jesus Christ and to grow in a relationship with Him.  That's why TeamKID ends with KID.  KID stands for Kids in Discipleship!  All parts of TeamKID - Bible stories, Scripture memory, mission activities, life application, and recreation games -  connect to teach life lessons to kids.

TeamKID meets every Wednesday night from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and runs from the middle of August (after school starts) until the following May (when school ends).  

For the 2022-2023 school year, the TeamKID curriculum was based on the "Good News"!  It took the kids on a journey through the four books of the gospel (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) that tell us about who Jesus is and why He came.  The kids explored themes and purposes of the Gospels and learned how each account of the same story seamlessly weaves different details together to share the good news of Jesus and the Kingdom of God.

For the 2023-2024 school year, the curriculum will be based on God's faithful promises...

TeamKID: Faithful Promises leads elementary-aged kids to discover the steadfast faithfulness of God through Old Testament promises. Children explore the details of the major covenants promised in the Old Testament and connect the bigger reality of God's faithfulness to their every circumstance. Through the covenants God made to Adam, Noah, Moses, David, and others, kids will connect to the God of steadfast faithfulness, even when we are unfaithful, and see how all of God's promises are ultimately fulfilled in Jesus.

Promoting the Discovery of Jesus through Sports!

Midway Heights Baptist Church became a partnering church with Upward Sports for the first time last winter.  We had over 80 kids in our community between the ages of Kindergarten through 5th Grades participate in our first winter Basketball/Cheerleading program that we sponsored from December 2022 through February 2023.  Registration started towards the end of September 2022 and the first practices took place in early December 2022.   Games started around the first of January 2023 and continued through February.

The Upward Sports program was such a success, that we have decided to sponsor another basketball/cheerleading program in the winter of 2023!  Feel free to check back frequently for updates on when the next registration starts.

Zoomerang - Sanctity of Life (2023)

Every year we host a Vacation Bible School one week during the summer for kids kindergarten through 6th grade. We have rotations including Music, Crafts, Bible Study, and Missions. This is a week filled with excitement and helps the children grow in their faith!  Visit our Special Events page for more information and to sign-up!

We recently held VBS for 2023 during the month of July.  It was a great success!  We had over 84 kids register to participate!  Here's what the kids learned...

At Zoomerang, the kids marveled at the unforgettable wildlife, culture, and beauty of Australia while exploring the wonder and value of life, from the lives of pre-born babies to eternal life in the kingdom of God. During this pro-life VBS, kids discovered that life is valuable. From the tiniest to the oldest, each person is made in the image of God—wonderfully designed to know Him and live for Him!

For Kids in 6th Grade through High School

Our student ministry seeks to lead Middle and High School students into a transforming encounter with Jesus as well as offering a place to grow and cultivate a continuing relationship with Jesus Christ. We also seek to create environments where students are encouraged to make wise choices, positively influence their friends, and experience personal ministry through serving others.

We have a variety of adult ministries here at Midway Heights. We are seeking to help you grow in your faith and be among a community of believers.

Reach Up / Reach In / Reach Out

While we believe in serving God by serving others through mission work, we also like to reach out to the local community.  We hold both an annual Independence Day celebration and Fish Fry event for those who care to join us!  More information on those events are listed below in our list of "Ministries".

Come join us for food, music, a blow-up obstacle course for the kids, and fireworks after dark!  We will be having our Independence Day celebration on July 1st, 2023.  

Every Fall we have a fish fry with some amazing homemade pies!  This year it will be on Saturday, September 16th, 2023!
